I’ve had several surgeries prior to the two current surgeries that were elective and considered major surgeries that I was constipated for about four to six days after surgery and in both cases difficult to pass. I was pleasantly surprised that this time while chatting on the phone with my daughter I passed some gas that really smelled and thought “it is that time to be on the toilet” and “dealing with pain” but guess what, everything left my body no different than without surgery.
What made the difference? The other surgeries were in and out, same day and given laxatives with no real instructions passed this while for this time I was pretty much told when and what to eat plus the laxatives but included some mineral liquid. Any ways thought it was a good idea to mention this for others to perhaps learn from
